Carlo Nason

In Carlo Nason's (Murano, 1935) glass, the techniques of fine craftsmanship are combined with innovative design. Born into one of the oldest families of glassworkers in Murano, he absorbed the teachings of the master glassworkers at Vincenzo Nason & Co., founded by his father, from an early age, realising the potential of glass applied to functional objects. Some of his first pieces, produced in the family business in the '60s, are kept in the Corning Museum of Glass, the MoMa and other international museums include his works in their collections. From 1965 to the present he has been collaborating with prestigious glassworks in Murano such as A.V. Mazzega, Vistosi, Carlo Moretti, Livio Seguso, De Majo, then with the Gruppo Firme Di Vetro and Leucos, both from Salzano.
